Digital Tethering™ is a unique infrastructure concept which, for the first time, delivers safety- assured drone operations combining state-of-the-art technology with robust safety-assured software to deliver commercially viable Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations in atypical airspace.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to deliver drone-focused technical projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background, excellent organisational skills, and a track record of delivering successful projects within budget and on time. 

Working to the Chief Operating Officer, the Project Manager will manage complex technical projects. Some will be utilising drones and linked technologies, to support large-scale national infrastructure programmes that each utilise Drone Major Group’s Digital Tethering concept. Others may focus on large-scale production of drone solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution:

• Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments.

• Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to ensure timely delivery.

• Monitor project budgets and ensure cost-effective resource utilisation.

• Coordinate project progress across cross-functional contractor teams to achieve demanding objectives and ensure seamless project execution.

•  Use initiative and energy to drive cost-effective project progress.

Problem Solving:

• Identify and address any problems that risk progress, including supply chain and technical delivery issues.

Stakeholder Management:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and both internal and external stakeholders.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing regular project updates and addressing concerns.

• Manage expectations and resolve conflicts.

 Quality Assurance:

•  Ensure adherence to quality standards and industry best practices.

•  Implement quality control measures to minimise errors.

•  Conduct regular reviews and audits to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.

  Risk Management:

•    Identify and assess project risks.

•    Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.

•    Monitor and control risks throughout the project lifecycle.

In Service Support Management:

• Ensure the required levels and standards of technical support are delivered for projects during their in-service phase.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Comprehensive experience in an engineering or related field.

• Experience in managing technical projects.

• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles.

• Excellent organisational and time management skills.

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

• Effective communication and presentation skills.

• Proficiency in appropriate project management tools and software.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Project management certification will be an advantage.

• Chartered Engineer status will offer credibility in engaging with highly qualified external technical experts.
