Aerial drones equipped with the ability to create real-time terrain models of active open pit mines would give miners a day-by-day analysis of the mine’s productivity (i.e. how much material is being moved per day).

Aerial survey drones equipped with multi-spectral imagery capabilities can detect ore deposits from the air more quickly than traditional ground crews, and at a much lower cost.

High endurance aerial drones can efficiently survey long stretches of pipeline more quickly and efficiently than traditional manned helicopter crews.

Sub-surface aquatic drones are able to inspect the underwater infrastructure of offshore oil rigs, operating in more hard-to-reach areas than expensive, bulky manned submarines. The reduced cost and personnel requirements would also allow for inspections to take place more frequently, increasing the possibility of issues being caught before they endanger the platform.
